Would you help a stranger?

Would you help a dying stranger? Would you take the time to recuse someone you didn't know? If you seen or know someone who had life threatening health problems would you have compassion? Would you care? Would you try to offer assistance?

Who Is My Neighbor?

The Lord give me a job that
didn't require much labor,
all I had to do was help my neighbor.
I overlooked all the sick, weak, and poor,
I over looked the needy and didn't help them endure
Suddenly, I felt great a great presence appear,
He spoke these words directly in my ear…

“Behold, to love the Lord thy God
 is My Greatest Command,
and to love thy neighbor is
the second greatest for man.
The greatest commandment is
helping the sick and poor, if you love Me
then you will help the needy endure.
Why do My people find My words so terrible?
I have already explained this a parable:
There was a man robbed, beaten,
and left to die on the street,
he laid there thirsty, dying,
and without food to eat.
A self-righteous preacher turned
his head as he passed by,
but a stranger helped because
he did not want to see the poor man died.
He fed, clothed, and paid for him to stay in an Inn,
he rescued him and treated him like a friend.
Then it came to pass he got well
and praised God the very next day,
 just because the humble servant
showed compassion as he was going on his way.
Indeed! thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself,
because this shall separate who receives life or death!”

God is asking all of us to care about someone in need. God wants each one of us to have compassion and help whoever it is that needs care. God needs you and I to put aside our own needs and care for the needs of our neighbor.

Who is our neighbor? Our neighbor is the person dying on the picture above. He is a young man living in India. He has a life threatening illness and needs surgery. Unfortunately, he is not able to pay for any type of medical treatment.

I ask you to have compassion on this sick dying young man and pray for him. If you are able, please send a donation to help with his medical care. I ask you to look into your heart and help this young man stay alive. God will remember your kindness and bless you for taking the time to care for a stranger in another country.

Please pray for this young man health. He needs surgery and is unable to pay for medical needs in India.

Please help us!

                 Inspirational and Spiritual Poetry

We all need inspiration and encouragement. Sometimes just a kind word can be a blessing and it can help us get  through our darkness hour!! During those struggling times, I try to find some inspiring words to share and comfort. A good encouraging word can turn someones life around.

"He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted and proclaim LIBERTY to the captives."
Isaiah 61:1

                                  My Testimony

I was born and raised in Detroit MI. I grew up in an unstable home. My father physically and mentally abused my mother. His abusiveness had an adverse effect on me as well as my siblings. It caused homelessness and a lot of mental anguish. It also caused a great deal of hardship and grief.

As a result, I did not attend school regularly. I developed a leaning disability. I did not like going to school. I could not read and comprehend like other kids in elementary. I struggled though middle school and eventually dropped out in the 9th grade.

I did not get involved in any criminal activity during this time, but I wasn’t doing anything constructive with my life either. I was not interested in sports or anything else that would make my life better.

I began smoking marijuana at around sixteen years old. I tried alcohol, but didn’t like the taste or the feeling of being drunk. So I stuck with smoking weed until I meet crack in 1984.

My life quickly grew out of control. I lied, cheated, and stole to support my crack habit. My only purpose in life was to get high. I lost friends and family members trust and respect. Getting high was all that mattered to me.

At twenty-seven, I committed my first felony that lead me to prison. It was one of the worse experience s of my life. I was completely lost and did not know or understand just how serious things were.

As result of my insanity, I went to prison several more times. My last visit was indeed the lowliest and darkest periods in my life. I lost all hope about myself. Despair became my best friend as I sit in the cold jail cell. I thought of ways to end my life because I did not want to go through the pain and suffering anymore. But at my lowest moment, something happened. The Lord came and touched my heart and gave me a reason to continue on.

Today, I use my experience to help inspire and uplift others. I want my poems to glory God and give encouragement and inspiration to the "Brokenhearted"
