Why did God ordained Gleaning?

What is gleaning? Why did God ordain gleaning? Gleaning is the process of leaving a little leftover crops in the fields so the poor and needy would have food to eat.

God ordained gleaning so that the poor and needy would never starve to death.
God commanded people to leave some leftover crops in the fields so the poor and needy can eat. Many generations have failed to follow this simple command. Today, we need to leave a small portion of crops in the field (money) to help feed the poor and needy!

Leviticus 23:22 KJV
And when ye reap the harvest of your land, thou shalt not make clean riddance of the corners of thy field when thou reapest, neither shalt thou gather any gleaning of thy harvest: thou shalt leave them unto the poor, and to the stranger: I am the Lord your God.

*Please do not forget to leave a little behind to help the poor and needy!
